Asunto: Alerta Legislativa, el Senado aprueba el Acto de Mejora de la
Seguridad para Peatones



Compañeros Federacionistas:

             Tengo el agrado de dirigirme a ustedes esta noche para
avisarles
que, gracias a su ardua labor, el Senado aprobó S. 841,

el Acto de Mejora

de la Seguridad para Peatones, muy tarde, la noche pasada.

             Como saben por anteriores alertas legislativas, al Acto

de Seguridad de Vehículos de motor, S. 3302, no se le permitió seguir
adelante debido a un
par de senadores que colocaron altos en el proyecto de ley. Se decidió que
el Senado tomaría parte en el no controversial Acto


de Seguridad de Vehículos de motor, y así tratar de pasarlo como proyecto de
ley independiente. Nuestro
Acto de Mejora de la seguridad peatonal fué uno de estos artículos, y fué
aprobado por unanimidad. S. 841 pasará ahora a la Cámara de
examen.

             Estoy pidiendo que se comuniquen con su miembro de la Cámara de
Representantes, y los insten a pasar S. 841 que se recibió en el
Senado en el calendario de suspensión. Puede ser conectado a su
miembro de la Cámara llamando a la línea central telefónica del Capitolio
gratis, en
(866) 727-4894. Estamos un paso más cerca de completar nuestro trabajo en
este importante asunto, e insto a todos a hacer un último esfuerzo para
terminar el trabajo.
