Los resultados al Reto del Mes para Que Conozca a los Ciegos ¡ya salieron! ¡Felicitaciones al capítulo North Central de la Federación Nacional de Ciegos de Louisiana, y al capítulo de la Federación Nacional de Ciegos de Maine!
 
El primer reto era crear un único e innovador evento del Mes para Que Conozca a los Ciegos. La Federación ha hablado, y el ganador de este reto es el capítulo North Central de la Federación de Louisiana. Aunque las márgenes estaban cerca, el esfuerzo del Capítulo North Central para embellecer un parque local se lleva la corona.
 
El capítulo se enteró de un proyecto de embellecimiento local y decidió participar en la creación de etiquetas en Braille para más de treinta diferentes árboles en el parque. El capítulo diseñó las etiquetas de modo que pudieran ser colocadas al lado o cerca de las etiquetas de inprenta correspondientes. Se considerará también la plantación de un árbol en nombre del capítulo en breve. Esta fué una manera única de exponer al público en general a los múltiples usos de Braille, y compartir la filosofía positiva de la Federación. ¡Estupendo trabajo capítulo North Central!
 
El segundo reto estaba abierto a aquellas filiales que no participaron en la campaña del año pasado. Cada evento presentado por una filial obtuvo una entrada en un sorteo por el premio del Reto Novato. La Federación de Maine es la afortunada ganadora de este año. Felicitaciones a la filial de Maine por intensificar y participar en la campaña de este año.
 
Gracias a todos los que participaron en este año en las actividades del Mes de Que Conozca a los Ciegos. Un número de acontecimientos fantásticos se presentaron, así que gracias a todos los que emitieron su voto para decidir el ganador de este año del evento del Reto Innovador. Recuerden, nunca es demasiado temprano para comenzar a planear sus eventos 2013 para el Més de que Conozca a los Ciegos.

  The results of the Meet the Blind Month challenges are in! Congratulations to the North Central Chapter of the NFB of Louisiana and the NFB of Maine! 
   
  The first challenge was to create a unique and innovative Meet the Blind Month event. The Federation has spoken, and the winner of this challenge is the North Central Chapter of the NFB of Louisiana. Although the margins were close, the North Central Chapter's effort to beautify a local park takes the crown. 
   
  The chapter learned of a local beautification project and decided to participate by creating Braille labels for over thirty different trees in the park. The chapter designed the labels so that they could be placed alongside or near the corresponding print labels. They will also consider planting a tree in the name of the chapter soon. This was a unique way to expose the general public to the many uses of Braille, and to share the positive philosophy of the NFB. Great job North Central Chapter! 
   
  The second challenge was open to those affiliates that did not participate in last year's campaign. Each event submitted by a qualifying affiliate earned one entry into a drawing for the Newcomer Challenge prize. The NFB of Maine is this year's lucky winner. Congratulations to the Maine affiliate for stepping up and participating in this year's campaign. 
   
  Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's Meet the Blind Month activities.  A number of fantastic events were submitted, so thank you to everyone who cast their vote to decide this year's Innovative Event Challenge winner. Remember, it's never too early to begin planning your 2013 Meet the Blind Month events.
