La Federación Nacional de Ciegos, campeóna líder en Braille, se complace en anunciar el Simposio Braille, que permitirá a los profesionales, a las personas ciegas, y a otras partes interesadas, la oportunidad de conocer y discutir las prácticas promisorias en la enseñanza de Braille, y el entrenamiento docente en Braille. El simposio contará con sesiones en tres formatos: viñetas de los ciegos en cuanto a como el Braille se está utilizando en la actualidad, sesiones de presentación y discusión sobre prácticas prometedoras, y sesiones de solución de problemas.
 
Entre los oradores figurarán los principales expertos que discutirán los trabajos más innovadores que se están haciendo en Braille en la actualidad. Los temas de las presentaciones serán los siguientes:
 
· La enseñanza del código Braille de manera eficiente y eficaz
· Proporcionar instrucción de alta calidad en Braille para ciegos adultos
· Las prácticas actuales en la enseñanza de Braille a nivel universitario para los futuros profesores de ciegos;
· Integración de la instrucción en Braille en el plan de estudios de lectura en el aula
· La integración de Braille e inprenta

· El gran número de casos que los maestros tienen que gestionar
· La creación de futuros profesores, para el éxito en sus estudios universitarios en Braille, mientras se mantiene un alto nivel

The National Federation of the Blind, a leading champion for Braille, is excited to announce the Braille Symposium, which will provide professionals, blind people, and other interested parties with an opportunity to learn about and discuss promising practices in Braille instruction and teacher preparation in Braille. The symposium will feature sessions in three formats: vignettes from blind people on how Braille is being used today, presentation/discussion sessions on promising practices, and problem solution sessions.
 
Speakers will include leading experts who will discuss the most innovative work that is being done on Braille today. Presentation topics will include:
 
·        teaching the Braille code efficiently and effectively
·        providing high quality Braille instruction to blind adults
·        current practices in Braille instruction at the university level for future teachers of the blind
·        integrating Braille instruction into the classroom reading curriculum
·        integrating Braille and print
 
Problem solution sessions will focus on:
 
·        the large caseloads teachers have to manage
·        setting up future teachers for success in their university Braille courses while maintaining high standards
