Estimados colegas:
Pido a aquellos cuyos nombres aparecen más adelante en esta carta que se desempeñen en el Comité de Traducción en Español del 2013 de la Federación Nacional de Ciegos. Un creciente interés en
la literatura de la Federación Nacional de Ciegos tanto dentro de los Estados Unidos como
de otros países se ha demostrado por las personas de habla Hispana. Tenemos un número de nuestros 
documentos traducidos al Español, pero debemos hacer un esfuerzo sistemático para hacer aún más.
El trabajo del pasado ha sido excelente, y el nivel de la Federación Nacional de Ciegos
se debe mantener en nuestros esfuerzos futuros, lo cual, estoy bastante seguro de que será. Los miembros del comité son: Conchita Hernández, Directora (4435 Randolph Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68510;

TO THE MEMBERS OF THE 2013 SPANISH TRANSLATION COMMITTEE

 

Dear Colleagues:

 

I am asking those of you whose names appear later in this letter to serve on the 2013 Spanish Translation Committee of the National Federation of the Blind. An increasing interest in the literature of the National Federation of the Blind both from within the United States and from other countries has been shown by Spanish-speaking people. We have a number of our documents translated into Spanish, but we should make a systematic effort to do even more of it.  The work of the past has been excellent, and the standard of the National Federation of the Blind should be maintained in our future endeavors, which I am quite certain it will be. The committee members are: Conchita Hernandez, Chairman (4435 Randolph Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68510; (402) 419-6794; <Conchita.hernandez at nebraska.gov>); Frida Aizenman, Nevada; Alex Castillo, Nebraska; Jose Marques, Texas; Carlos Mora, Maryland; Alpidio Rolón, Puerto Rico; Carlos Serván, Nebraska; and Monica Villareal; Texas.  

 

Of course, the committee may draft anybody else it thinks is necessary to assist with the work of the committee.

 

Committees of the National Federation of the Blind are ordinarily appointed for one year. The term of this committee begins January 1, 2013, and ends December 31, 2013. Those who will be appointed to the 2014 committee will be notified at the end of 2013 or early in 2014.

 

The work of this committee will get our literature in the hands of a group of blind people who have not previously been able to read it with ease. Please talk to Conchita Hernandez about the committee, and good luck with your work. I look forward to seeing all of you at the national convention.
