Asunto: Necesitamos Su Relato

Estimados Compañeros Federacionistas:

¿Va a la convención nacional? Si es así, nos gustaría un video de su 
historia personal. Queremos que nos cuente cómo se sobrepuso a los 
obstáculos
asociados con las bajas expectativas que la sociedad tiene de las 
personas ciegas y cómo está viviendo la vida que quiere. Su relato puede 
proporcionar tutoría y esperanza
a otros. Prácticamente todos nos hemos beneficiado de escuchar el relato 
personal de un miembro de la Federación. Este esfuerzo de grabación en 
vídeo de las historias de nuestros miembros
ampliará el apoyo y asesoramiento que nos ofrecemos unos a otros, para 
los que aún no han llegado a conocer la Federación Nacional de Ciegos. 
Esta es una oportunidad
para mejorar su capacidad, y la capacidad de nuestro movimiento, para 
marcar una diferencia en las vidas de otras personas ciegas.

Su relato no tiene que contener suspenso u otros contenidos dramáticos. 
Sólo necesita ser su historia, contada desde el corazón, y en lo que se 
refiere a la Federación National
de Ciegos.

En cuanto a la logística, vamos a tener una sala de video establecida en 
la convención. La grabación en vídeo tardará de quince a treinta 
minutos, pero estamos buscando historias
que son alrededor de cinco minutos de duración. Una vez que haga su 
cita, le enviaremos todos los detalles.

Su historia se conservará en nuestra biblioteca de vídeo y se podría 
seleccionar para su uso en nuestro canal de YouTube.

Este no es el momento de ser modesto o humilde; este es el momento para 
contar su historia para que otros puedan aprender de sus experiencias.

Dear Fellow Federationists:

Are you going to national convention? If so, we would like to videotape 
your personal story. We want you to tell us about how you overcame the 
obstacles associated with the low expectations that society has of blind 
people and how you are living the life you want. Your story can provide 
mentorship and hope to others. Virtually all of us have benefited from 
hearing the personal story of an NFB member. This effort to videotape 
the stories of our members will expand the support and mentoring that we 
provide to each other to those who have not yet come to know the 
National Federation of the Blind. This is a chance to enhance your 
ability, and the ability of our movement, to make a difference in the 
lives of other blind people.

Your story does not have to contain cliff-hangers or other dramatic 
content. It only needs to be your story, told from the heart, and relate 
to the National Federation of the Blind.

Regarding logistics, we will have a video room set up at the convention. 
The videotaping will take fifteen to thirty minutes, but we are looking 
for stories that are about five minutes in length. Once you make your 
appointment, we?ll send you complete details.

Your story will be preserved in our video library and may be selected 
for use on our YouTube channel.

This is not the time to be modest or humble; this is the time to tell 
your story so that others can learn from your experiences. I urge you to 
consider taking time during this year?s convention for this important 
activity.
