Estudiantes Ciegos, NABS:

                 ¿Es usted legalmente ciego?

¿Reside en los Estados Unidos, el Distrito de Columbia, o Puerto Rico?

¿Está planificando llevar a cabo o perseguir a tiempo completo un curso 
de educación superior de estudios en una institución de Estados Unidos 
en el año escolar 2016?

¿Está disponible para asistir a toda la Convención Nacional de la 
Federación, en Orlando, Florída desde el 30 de junio hasta el 5 de julio?

¿Está ansioso por reunirse con los líderes de la Federación, y 
conectarse en una red con algunos de los más apasionados, mentores

Good evening NABS members and leaders:

  

                 Are you legally blind?

Do you reside in the United States, the District of Columbia, or Puerto
Rico?

Are you pursuing or planning to pursue a full-time, postsecondary course of
study at a U.S. institution in the 2016 scholastic year?

Are you available to attend the entire NFB National Convention in Orlando,
FL from June 30-July 5?

Are you eager to meet Federation leaders and network with some of the
brightest, most passionate mentors out there?

  

If you said yes to all of these questions, then I strongly encourage you to
apply to our 2016 National Scholarship Program!

To recognize achievement by blind scholars, the National Federation of the
Blind annually offers blind college students in the United States and Puerto
Rico the opportunity to win one of thirty merit-based, national-level
scholarships ranging in value of $3,000 to $12,000. All scholarships awarded
are based on academic excellence, community service, and leadership.

  

As a 2013 scholarship recipient, I can honestly say that I spent a week with
remarkable people, interacted with blind students and professionals from all
over the country, and found a family that I am ever so grateful to have. The
experience is one you will never forget. I personally encourage each of you
to take advantage of this. Beyond the much needed financial support, the
relationships gained are invaluable. Like Chairperson Patti Chang always
says: "There is truly only one way to win an NFB scholarship: that is to
apply."

Remember: applications, along with all necessary documents, must be
submitted no later than March 31, 2016. I highly recommend that you do not
wait until the end of February to start gathering additional information and

different perspectives.

  

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
