La Federación Nacional de Ciegos y Dos Estudiantes Ciegos Entablan Una 
Demanda Contra el Distrito del Colegio Comunitario, Los Angeles 
Community College

Los Angeles, California (3 de marzo de 2017): La Federación Nacional de 
Ciegos, principal defensora de la igualdad de acceso a la educación 
superior para los

ciegos en la nación; su filial de California, la Federación Nacional de 
Ciegos de California; y dos estudiantes ciegos, Roy Payán y Portia 
Mason, han entablado una demanda

en el Tribunal de Distrito de Estados Unidos para el Distrito Central de 
California, Western Division, contra el Distrito del Colegio 
Comunitario, Los Angeles Community College (LACCD)

(Caso 2:17-cv-01697). La demanda alega que LACCD ha violado la ley de 
Americanos con Discapacidades y la sección 504 de la Ley de 
Rehabilitación de

1973 por no proporcionar materiales de instrucción accesibles y otras 
adaptaciones requeridas por estos estatutos y requeridas por estos 
estudiantes. Como resultado,
