Presente Solicitudes de Premios Bolotin para Nominaciones Individuales y 
de Organizaciones

Los Premios Doctor Jacob Bolotin honran a las personas y organizaciones 
que son una fuerza positiva en la vida de las personas ciegas. 
Incrementando la independencia del

ciego. Creando y/o dirigiendo programas de alta calidad para ciegos. 
Asesorando o inspirando a otras personas ciegas a lograr sus sueños.

Buscamos nominados que:

Han derribado una barrera a la que se enfrentan las personas ciegas de 
una manera innovadora

Han cambiado las percepciones negativas de la ceguera y las personas ciegas

Han desafiado los límites existentes para inspirar a las personas ciegas 
a alcanzar nuevas alturas.

El proyecto o programa nominado debe estar en curso o haber estado en 
vigor durante un período de doce meses anterior a la fecha de solicitud.

Las solicitudes se cerrarán pronto. La fecha límite es el 15 de abril.

Detalles del Premio

La Federación Nacional de Ciegos determina la cantidad total disponible 
para los Premios Doctor Jacob Bolotin cada año en función de los 
ingresos del Fiduciario recibidos.

el Comité de Premios Doctor Jacob Bolotin de la Federación Nacional de

Premios Doctor Jacob Bolotin 2020,

se entregó un premio de veinticinco mil dólares a MarileeTalkington, 
actriz, directora fundadora, y directora ejecutiva de Access Acting Academy,

un programa de formación no visual para artistas ciegos con el objetivo 
de aumentar la participación de los ciegos en las artes y el 
entretenimiento. Un segundo premio de veinticinco mil dólares

Se entregó a Geneva Lake Astrophysics and STEAM Education por sus 
programas innovadores para hacer datos astronómicos y el estudio de

astrofísica accesible a personas ciegas.

The Dr. Jacob Bolotin Awards honor individuals and organizations that 
are a positive force in the lives of blind people. Increasing the 
independence of the blind. Creating and/or directing high quality 
programs for the blind. Mentoring or inspiring other blind people to 
achieve their dreams.

We are looking for nominees who:
Have broken down a barrier blind people face in an innovative way
Have changed negative perceptions of blindness and blind people
Have challenged existing boundaries to inspire blind people to achieve 
new heights

The project or program nominated must be ongoing or have been in effect 
throughout a twelve-month period preceding the application date.

    *Award Details*

The National Federation of the Blind determines the total amount 
available for the Dr. Jacob Bolotin Awards each year based on the trust 
income received. The number of awards and the amount of each award will 
be determined by the NFB?s Dr. Jacob Bolotin Award Committee based on 
its evaluation of eligible and deserving applicants.

For the 2020 Dr. Jacob Bolotin Awards

twenty-five thousand dollars was presented to MarileeTalkington, actor, 
director, and founder and executive director of Access Acting Academy, a 
nonvisual training program for blind performers with the goal of 
increasing participation of the blind in arts and entertainment. A 
second award of twenty-five thousand dollars was presented to Geneva 
Lake Astrophysics and STEAM Education for their innovative programs to 
make astronomical data and the study of astrophysics accessible to blind 
people.
