Good afternoon Jean,
I am sad to accept your resignation from the NFBF Greater Daytona Beach chapter and board. You and Peter have always been strong supporters of the blind community. I have strong political positions, but have always tried to keep our chapter non-partisan in taking political sides except if it affects the lives of the blind community.
I have not always agreed with either Democrat or Republican attitudes, but have appreciated that Nancy Pelosi has been a leader of NFB legislation in the House of Representatives, and Tammy Duckworth has similarly urged approval of important NFB legislation in the Senate.
I cannot accept your resignation from the NFBF state membership, but I have forwarded your letter to Denise and Paul.
Grateful always for your service and friendship,
Brian Edward Norton

To Brian and All,

I write this email with a sad heart; I always felt our National Federation of the Blind as a whole was neutral when it came to political choices but at the Rookie Roundup our National President Marc Riccabono announced that Nancy Pelosi was going to speak. I am saddened because she does not stand for what I believe in. I am a Catholic who believes killing innocent babies is wrong; she does not. I believe marriage is between a man and a woman she does not when she supports gay rights. Although she tries to say she is a Catholic she is not. I am not saying that all of you are not christians but you might want to rethink who you support now and in the future.

I am a Christian who supports and believes in my Heavenly Father “God “and my “Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” along with my “Mother Mary and all the Saints”. I am not trying to preach to the choir so to speak but as of right now I cannot support an organization that condones this type of behavior, so therefore, as of right now this is my formal letter of resignation from the National Federation of the Blind as a whole. I will miss you!

Jean Cerullo
