Hi all. I need your suggestions on a few things. First, I am trying very hard to get some fund raising going for the Manasota chapter. We are having great difficulty with this. The main reason we are having trouble is that 95 percent of our members are much older and do not want to really have  to participate. There are a few of us, but I don't know how we can do it all. I do not think that most of our members have any intention in coming to state or national conventions due to their age and health problems. We have many individuals who are in their 80s and 90s, and I completely understand where they are coming from. However, I do need to get some kind of money raised for those who would like to participate next year in the conventions. Any suggestions?
Next, I am trying to come up with an idea for meet the blind month. I realize it is coming up very quickly, and need to organize something very fast. It is extremely difficult to plan activities when this group does not want to have to do very much. Any suggestions on this?
Also, one suggestion from a member was to get business cards made up for me. That way they can be handed out and I can be reached if needed. Does anyone have a business card specifically for the NFB that you could send me? This way I can have one made up pretty much the same but with my information.
I was also wondering where I can get a hold of some information about the NFBF. Is there some kind of pamphlet or something? The reason I am asking is that we would like to hand this information out to different places in our area with information on our chapter attached.
I realize this e-mail is very lengthy, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
