[Nfbf-l] Atlanta Airport

I have flown to Atlanta lately, a little too much of it in the last month. I
don't use guide dogs but I can say for sure that Airtran staff has no clue
about their responsibilities towards the people with disabilities and
special needs. They don't think disabled people have any rights. They think
helping blind folks is charity not their responsibility. I recently waited
for 35 minutes after everyone else had deplaned, for some one to assist me
to the baggage claim. They often board me after everyone else has boarded
irrespective of what zone I am in. Latest I flew was on September 14 from
Atlanta to Orlando. I had upgraded to business class and reached an hour
before the departure time. I was the last to board, even though I was first
to arrive on the gate for that flight.
Sorry, it is not related to guide dogs. But the common theme is how Air Tran
and perhaps other lines are apathetic and obliviousabout their
responsibility towards people with special needs.
