Eric, you obviously don't know me or what I have done for the NFBF for the
last 9 years, or the non profit I worked to not only create for our state to
give our less privileged used equipment that will give them the independence
many of us have and work on many state board for many years with the
Blinded Veterans association, Our State Veterans advisory counsel and
theFund raisers that have been extremely profitable, and now am on the
Mayors Transit advisory counsel, and the Mayors disabled advisory counsel,
and representing our NFB on them as well. let's not forget all my trips to
Baltimore, the State and National conventions always on my nickel, and
working the Newsline florida help line and giving my many demo's! You mean
putting my money where my mouth is kind of like that?
Oh, did I say that the State Senators, Representatives, and local
politicians I have developed relationships with through my advocacy for the
NFB that has always worked with me on different intrests of our blind
community? Or the Awareness I have brought to Police chiefs in the cities I
have lived in to train and inform their patrolmen about the white cane law?
How about the scholarship and business partnerships luncheons I created in
Orlando for our people locally as well? Oh, the I am going to 4, yes 4,
florida conventions to let the unfortunate members of the NFB the FCB have
the opportunity to learn about our FDCP,Inc program that could helop them
in the near future as well! Hmm.....Your a fool! Next time you wish to
comment on a topic from another state, you had better ask around about the
individuals you are trying to smart ass with! KH

Subject: [Nfbf-l] Putting your money where your mouth is
Let's see, putting your money, where your mouth is: Hmmm!
If you enjoy helping out other blind people out, if you enjoy State and
National Conventions that will help you grow as a leader, dues are
important. It shows the Federation that you're "putting your money, where
your mouth is." Kirk, what you, essentially, said to RJ was just that.
Another way to put it is, "money talks." The teachings of Marc Maurer,
Jacobus TenBroek, and Kenneth Jernigan teach blind people that "if you
believe in a cause, champion it." Give money to it, and legislate, on
behalf of it. Right, Kirk? Right, Gloria? Right, RJ?
