Artificial vision for the blind becomes reality in new autobiography.

Author Jens Naumann publishes the details behind CNN, WIRED and CBC's
news story.

Napanee, Ontario (PRWEB) September 26, 2012.

A decade ago, CNN did a story announcing that artificial vision for the
blind
was not anymore the stuff of science fiction but a reality, and may be one
of the greatest triumphs in medical history. From the man who has proven
this true, Search for Paradise is Jens Naumann's remarkably inspiring
autobiography.
Detailing his excruciating trials and eventual triumphs, he brings hope to
the blind community and pays tribute to the people who have made this
miracle possible.

"Someday the blind will see again!" This prediction of a miracle cure "just
around the corner" comes true in 2002 for Naumann-whose first name is
pronounced as "Yens"-a Canadian who lost his sight in multiple bizarre eye
traumas.
Meeting up with famed American researcher, Dr. William H. Dobelle, Naumann
is the first clinical patient to have a brain implant promising the return
of his treasured sight.

Throughout the book, Naumann describes the devastation, exhilaration,
disappointment, elation, and confusion that attempts at sight recovery,
medical intervention, media propaganda, and ethical boundaries conjure in
the most illustrative intensity. As many questions are answered, many more
yet are opened and left so far undiscovered. This work is certainly an
eye-opener, unveiling its wisdom of many lessons learned.

While media giants CNN, WIRED, and CBC showed Naumann driving a car
following the operation, Search for Paradise describes the real story of the
extreme emotional turbulence from anguish to awe, surrounding the onset of
blindness and the promise of sight recovery. This is one book that will
touch hearts, uplift spirits, move minds, and change the world, even long
after its final chapters have been read and closed.

About the Author.

Emigrating from West Germany in 1967, Jens Naumann settled as a young boy in
British Columbia, Canada along with his parents and two siblings. Growing up
to appreciate the outdoors, motor biking and flying small airplanes, Jens
turned to the career of land surveyor following his first eye loss while
working on the railway. Married young, his luck for saving his other eye ran
out at age 20; forcing an abrupt change in lifestyle as seemingly
insurmountable challenges continued to bombard him through the process of
raising nine children. Jens has played an important role in many daunting
endeavors, including delivering 6 of his children, running a farm, serving
in Mozambique as Teacher-Training college instructor, and operating his own
solar energy systems installation company.
Jens presently resides with his family in Napanee, Ontario, is an avid
pianist and recently graduated as a registered social services worker from
Loyalist College.
