> U.S. Department of Justice Publishes Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on ADA Regulations
> This week, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) published a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) that is intended to revise the Department's Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) title II and title III regulations to implement the requirements of the ADA Amendments Act of 2008. The ADA Amendments Act of 2008 made a number of significant changes to the ADA definition of “disability” to ensure that it would be easier for individuals seeking the protection of the ADA to establish that they have a disability that falls within the meaning of the statute. The Department’s NPRM implements those changes into the ADA title II and title III regulations. The comment period for the proposed rule closes on March 31, 2014. View ADA.gov for more information on the NPRM.

The settlement comes after an investigation by the DOL’s Wage and Hour Division that discovered violations of minimum wage provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Get more information from DOL.

> Florida to Launch Discounted Health Insurance Exchange
> This week, Florida officials announced that they will launch “Florida Health Choices,” a state health insurance exchange that will offer pharmacy discount cards and limited dental plans, but not full-coverage insurance policies. The exchange aims to include almost 800,000 people in the state who make too much to qualify for Medicaid services, but make too little to qualify for subsidies to purchase insurance from the federal health insurance exchange marketplace. Read on at the Miami Herald.
