I don’t look at this the same way.  I just work harder to get out and be visible.  I do as much as I can independently, and try not to depend on people unless I have to do so.  Most blind people I see in this area rely strictly on paratransit to get everywhere and don’t use anything else.  How does that look to the sighted public? It makes it hard for folks like me who use the fixed route, Uber, and other transportation methods.  I can’t advocate for law violations on the fixed route if I’m the only one using it.
Get out and be visible folks! Don’t rely strictly on sighted people to get every place you need to go.
This is just one example of things I see that give the impression politicians have about us.  Unless they see it, they won’t understand it.
