[Nfbf-l] paying gratuity to server, corrected.

I agree with this message. One time, several years ago, I and a date went to
a Red Lobster in Atlanta. When we sat down, the server greeted us, but did
not take drink orders, nor did she bring out biscuits. Red Lobster is known
for their biscuits, so when she came back a couple of minutes later, I asked
when the drinks could be ordered, and if she could bring us some bread. She
said we'd get those things when we ordered, but first she wanted to know
"how' I planned to deal with the bill." I told her I was not certain I
understood considering that we had not even ordered, and she said that she
wanted to know how we planned to pay. I told her that first, I'd give her a
credit card, and she'd run it, but second, she'd need to bring a manager
over because I don't allow anyone to speak to me that way.
She did, and the situation was resolved, but needless to say, no tip was
given that evening.
