Hi all.

I thought I would share this newsletter with you, as there is a great fideeo in it regarding Publix down toward the bottom.

.  For those who may not know of this agency, they are a private agency located here in Daytona Beach who services folks throughout the state who are visually impaired along with cognitive and hearing impairments.  They’ve been around since 1924, and rely on donations from our Lions Clubs and other private donors in addition to some funding from DBS which varies upon client referral.

Conklin Center graduate named Employee of the Month by Publix

The Conklin Center for the Blind graduate David M. was recently named "Employee of the Month" by Publix Super Market at Westport Square in Port Orange, FL. He received a $25 Publix gift card and his photo was placed in the front of the store for the month of December 2018.

David, an avid antique collector, has been living independently for 18 years and has been employed by Publix for 17-1/2 years. He works with customers, bags groceries and retrieves carts. David says, "Management is fantastic. Great communication!" Congratulations David - Publix thinks you're fantastic, too! Couple marks 40 years of service to The Conklin Center

This month marks 40 years of service for culinary couple Henry and Angelia Reddick.  The Reddick's began working for The Conklin Center for the Blind before students arrived in March 1979. They were quite busy setting up the kitchen and planning nutritious meals designed to fuel the many independent living and job readiness activities ahead.

"We really enjoy encouraging our students to try new foods," said Angelia Reddick.  "The majority of the time, the students discover they like them and it really pleases us to be part of this learning and growing process."

The Conklin Center President & CEO Kelly Harris noted, "The many lives they've touched over the years is astonishing!" Congratulations Henry & Angelia!
