I’ve have such admiration for Beth Bowen. When I joined the Federation, she served on the national board of the NFB, as well as president of the NFB of Florida . She and her husband Jim introduced me to the Nfb and got me involved! I will never forget her! She truly advocated selflessly for blind people and changed what it means to be blind in Florida and throughout the nation! She will be missed and her contributions are very much appreciated by me! My condolences go out to The members of the Jacksonville chapter, her family, and all those who knew and loved her throughout the years!

She and her husband Jim took on leadership roles, (including those of President of the Jacksonville Chapter), one of the Affiliates four charter chapters. Beth served as an invaluable member and leader not only in Florida but on a national level as well.

She raised four children, was active in her church, was well known in local and State politics, supported women's concerns, blindness issues and was employed full-time as a medical transcriptionist.
