[NFBF-L] Update time for the Independence Fair at convention

We are proud to announce the Independence Fair, presented by The National
Federation of the Blind of Florida

 

We will be conducting this informative, educational, inspirational event,
and open to all!

 

The National Federation of the Blind of Florida 51st State Convention

>From Friday through Sunday, October 1-3, which will feature Independence,
Who We Are Makes a Difference.

Date:       Saturday, October 2, 2021

Time:      1:00 pm to 2:45 pm

Where:    Hotel, Salon B.

 

Join us to explore hands on activities demonstrated by blind/visually
impaired NFB members.

 

Learn about:

 

*    Assistive technology, covering book readers, Newsline, The Library
digital player and how to download books with BARD, the iPhone, IPAD and its
features.

*    Demonstrating skills, techniques and equipment for daily living
activities such as: devices to identify colors for clothing, Currency
identifier, and many adaptive cooking tools and gadgets.

*    Demonstrating writing guides and magnifiers.  

*    A demonstration on the talking blood pressure machine, glucometer and
how to identify medications.

*    Demonstration on the Amazon Home Smart Speaker and it's features.

*    Demonstration on Newsline and how to register

*    There will also be demonstrations on Braille writing devices, Braille
games and playing cards, Braille writing tools, accessories and talking
items.
