Hello again fans of Sunrise and Shine,

I don’t normally send out news bulletin style updates for our twice monthly Zoom gatherings, but I thought that the new information I have been able to obtain was well worth the time it would take to punch out this email. I think that you too will find the information worth reading and hope that you will hop into the call tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM eastern and enjoy our incredible lineup of guest speakers.

As the original email regarding our call had stated, we were going to try and have some vendors from the two national conventions join us to talk about their services and products. I think we’ve really scored big with the following list of vendors. All of those listed will have a presence at both the NFB and ACB National conventions, (in Texas and Illinois respectively). Check out who’s stopping by Sunrise and Shine tomorrow morning:

*	Computers for the Blind, Inc:

Computers for the Blind's mission is to open the world of information technology to persons who are blind or visually impaired by providing computer equipment, software, and training.

Marci Duty will be joining us to tell us more about CFB

*	IBUG Today

Promote the individual independence, social integration, and educational development of the blind through accessible technology training. We provide 21 technology training and social events each month.

Sandia Rao will be joining us to tell us more about IBUG Today.

*	Penny Forward

Penny Forward is a non-profit organization offering accessible financial wellness education and counseling programs for people who are blind or disabled.

Chris Peterson will be joining us to tell us all about tis incredible service.

*	Vanda Pharmaceuticals:

Vanda Pharmaceuticals is dedicated to raising awareness of Non-24-Hour Sleep-Wake Disorder (Non-24) and supporting the blindness community. Non-24 is a rare circadian rhythm disorder affecting up to 70% of people who are totally blind.

Many of us know Vicki Preddy from Vanda, we are so glad that she is going to stop by ‘Rise and Shine to tell us what Vanda will be doing at both of the national conventions

I hope that you can come by and spend some time with us. Please spread the word within your networks and let’s have a big turnout tomorrow morning.

See below for the original email containg the call information and the Zoom links.

Most respectfully,

Good afternoon Sunrise and Shine Faithful!

I hope you will be able to join us on this week’s Sunrise and Shine with NFB-NEWSLINE. We are going to have lots of fun reviewing what’s happening at the national annual conventions for both the National Federation of the Blind and the American Council of the Blind. As many might be aware, but some may not, both organizations will be kicking off their yearly extravaganzas within the next week or so, with the NFB meeting in Houston and the ACB gathering in Schaumburg, Illinois. Now seemed like the perfect time for ‘Rise and Shine to explore them both. NFB-NEWSLINE will, of course, provide lots of great info on both events too, so we’ll spend some time exploring where to find just what you are looking for.

One of my favorite things to do at any convention is to hang out in the exhibit hall area, so of course during our Zoom call this coming Thursday morning we’ll dig into who will be on hand in Texas and in Illinois. We might even have a visit from some of the vendors this week, (I’d be happy to learn about show specials. I’d be thrilled too if some early bird deals were tossed our way.

If you haven’t been to one of our calls before, joining us at 9:00 AM for coffee tea or leftover birthday cake will give you a chance to find out what you’ve been missing. We always take time for welcoming new guest speakers and participants and for lots of warmth and laughter.

Most of us have become pretty familiar with attending meetings using the Zoom platform over the past couple of years and in fact, we’ve been using Zoom since we launched Rise and Shine way back on April 16th 2020. If you’re not used to using Zoom or if it’s still giving you difficulties, don’t give up just yet. You can access the meeting by clicking on he below listed web link, by using the one tap mobile feature or by dialing the phone number provided and entering the access code when prompted.

The regulars on our call are always warm and welcoming and are thrilled to see new faces.

Hope to have you with us Thursday morning, see below for the Zoom info.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me before the call. Check the bottom of this email for the Zoom call-in instructions.
