Minutes of the Melbourne Space Coast Chapter Meeting of the NFB FloridaSaturday, September 9, 2023

Called to Order at 10:20 a.m.
Roll Call:  Camille Tate, President, Joyce Taylor, Vice President, Nancy Hollo, Secretary, Milano Hyacinthe, Treasurer, Maria Rigogliosi, Board Member, Morgan Hazlett, Board Member.

One Minute Message and Pledge:  Camille Tate
A eulogy for our recently deceased founding member Joe Naulty was led by Camille Tate and Maria Rigogliosi.
Secretary's Report:  A motion to accept the August Chapter minutes as emailed was made by Maria Rigogliosi, seconded by Joyce Taylor.A motion to accept the September Board minutes as emailed was made by Joyce Taylor, seconded by Maria Rigogliosi.

Treasurer's Report: $3,147.60 Motion to accept as read by Maria Rigogliosi, seconded by Nancy Hollo.
President's Report:  Camille has been appointed as a Kenneth Jernigan Leadership Inservice Attendee.  Over the next year she'll attend three in-person training sessions plus one monthly virtual session each month. Congratulations, Camille!
There will be no chapter or board meeting in the month of October due to the state convention.  
All members are invited to attend the Viva Brevard Festival on October 14 from 11:00 to 7:00 pm.  Admission is free. Fred Poppe Regional Park, 1951 Malabar Road, Palm Bay.  Contact Maria Rigogliosi for transportation.  321-795-7376.
The NFB Florida state convention will be held in Orlando in 2024.
Oko Phone App Guest presenter Seth Wilson gave a presentation on a new AI phone app for safer pedestrian crossing at intersections.  The app is not a replacement for mobility training, but is meant to improve safety.  It works offline, no data is collected, no internet is required.  It's compatible with iPhone 8 and up.
