This was a great read and great info.
I love to get educational info related to blindness and visually impaired daily living techniques/tools/equipment/experiences.

My only concern about all of this is that we must not be afraid to recognize that fear is a normal and helpful emotion.  A person who does not fear a rattlesnake, alligator, or a fast moving vehicle is in trouble.  Fear is even helpful and healthy.  Fear is only a problem when it is debilitating.
But that is where education allows us to keep the fear in a rational and helpful perspective.

I really love the education part...it has allowed me to become more confident and secure.

Can any of you recommend a cane to use on the beach?  I love to body surf at Daytona Beach and when I put my cane in plastic and get into the salt water, my canes quicly deteriate.

Keep the educational info coming!
