Hello everyone,

So I just switched my insurance plan for 2023 to UHC Medicare from Humana gold plus Medicare and I’m looking for recommendations for a new Ophthalmologist. I’ve been seeing Dr Cuva at Dr Prado’s office and while I really like him he’s not an ophthalmologist. I saw Dr Prado in July however, I didn’t like him at all I felt like he brushed me off like he just couldn’t wait to get me out the door. He also had a really bad bedside manner in my opinion. I’m looking for someone who has a really good bedside manner that is someone who is really nice and will treat you with respect and take the time to answer your questions no matter how small they are. I’m not sure if this will make a difference because a lot of ophthalmologists treat a variety of eye conditions but I have what’s called retinopathy of prematurity basically I was born about three months premature and my Retinas weren’t fully developed which caused my visual impairment. If anyone has any recommendations I’d really appreciate it that way I can look into them and call their office to see if they take my insurance and go see them in 2023.

P.S. This is a completely  irrelevant to the email but I would prefer to be called Jess over Jessica. The reason is because I really feel like I’ve made a lot of friends through NFB and while I’m still trying to get to know everyone better I like being called Jess over Jessica because I’d like to think we are all friends at least that’s how I feel.
