[NFBF-Tampa] Veterans Give Back Event 10/5-10/8

Good afternoon National Federation of the Blind Tampanians!


I hope this email finds you well on this beautiful afternoon. I want to
start by saying thank you to our Veterans and their families who have
served and sacrificed. We celebrate you today and always.


I just wanted to follow up and putting in writing, what we’ve discussed
these past few meetings about our give back event due to be held at state
convention.


Who: US! The National Federation of the Blind Tampa Chapter and Florida
Association of Blind Students, along with other chapters throughout the
state of Florida

What: Give back to Veterans

When: State convention weekend 10/5-10/8/2023

Where: Embassy Suites Tampa


I have been in preliminary talks with Doug Ingram to find an organization
that would be convenient and seamless. He suggested Veterans Village. Once
we have our total amount, we plan to make a donation to their food bank of
non perishable items.


We plan to sell sponsorship amounts in $25, $35 and $45. Sponsors will have
the option to donate towards our chapter, Florida Association of Blind
Students or the State Affiliate as well.


That’s all for now! I will be organizing this event in the coming weeks so
I will keep you posted on progress. For now please just start to brainstorm
your sponsorship list and look at your schedule to see when you might be
able to volunteer for a tabling event at Publix.


Thank you so much for your interest and support in this awesome give back
event! We truly are the BEST chapter and as President Kilby always says “we
are stronger together”!
