Ineko:
Are you a member of the deaf-blind division of the state NFB? Perhaps if you are, they can offer support.

Hey Siri, that was back then. But now I went completely. Back then I had hearing aids where I could talk talk to people but now since I lost all my Hearing I no longer can sit and talk to people so just wanted to let you know I’m completely deaf now. And the hearing aids, it’s just now made for sound. No pick up voices.

People Hearing change overtime just like people vision so way back then yes with hearing aids I was able to talk to people a little bit if it’s one on one and quiet, but as the time went on, I am completely deaf now. So I went back to the D EAFJW

Way back when Miranda was president

And that’s when I realized that I lost a hunk of my hearing then and lost the rest of it at the end of 2023 in December.

So now my hearing aids are only made for sound so if I sit close to the speakers, it would not help me cause I would just only hear sound instead of voice.

Point of clarification on my last message. I was speaking in generalities. I was not discussing one person‘s needs in particular. I also want to say I have had several good conversations with Aniko and we were able to communicate very well without any difficulty. I believe our chapter has many caring and thoughtful people who would do their best to accommodate those who need help. We are a very compassionate and caring group. Go Tampa Bay.

I=E2=80=99m sending this email to everyone because I think we should all b=

Ineko, I apologize for not ever, bothering to ask why you had quit coming t=
o the meetings. Maybe you told others, or maybe you kept it to yourself. Sti=
ll, I should have reached out to you. I had wondered why we didn=E2=80=99t s=
ee you at the meetings, but I=E2=80=99m sorry I never asked.

Now I would like to ask the leaders of our NFB chapter if what Ineko=E2=80=

ision as a part of the NFB, but that doesn=E2=80=99t solve the problem of ho=
w we can have people who are deaf, blind attend our meeting and be able to p=
articipate in person. Is it true that we can=E2=80=99t afford an interpreter=
for the two hours that we meet once a month? How can we feel comfortable ha=
ving social outings if we exclude people due to accessibility issues? Has an=
ybody ever bothered to find out how much that would cost?

=20
The bottom line to be is, if we say the pledge every week about how we wan=
t to advance and raise up our lives to be what we want them to be. How can w=
e exclude other members of our group for lack of accessibility?

If we are truly to be stronger together, then that means everybody.
