Hello,

I first want to say, Mary, I hope you will reconsider your decision and not step down from the board. You are a marvelous asset and we do not want to loose your contributions.

Joe,
I will get the info about Jessia’[s email over to David Andrews and ask him to make the correction/addition. As for the bank names. The chapter motion can not over ride what the current constitution states. I had brought up to the board and chapter to revise our constitution and it was stated that we did not want to go through the long process it would take to revise the constitution. There are many steps involved when changing the constitution. Also, if we would decide to change or revise the constitution, we would still at the moment have to follow the proper protocol and at this time would ask for both the Treasurer and President names. So, if the bank has been updated with both your name and Rosemary’s name, then I simply need to go and add my name.

Sylvia,
Can you please address these concerns and what we had discussed on the phone, and that I am only stating what proper procedures are and that we need to follow our chapters constitution which is a spin off of the state and national constitutions.

I am trying to keep everything transparent for all to see and know exactly what is going on with the chapter. In addition, I am sharing any and all information and conversations I have with the state board as to what we are doing in our chapter. I do not want any9one to feel as though things are not being done properly and that no one has any questions in regards to decisions that are being made.

Pleas feel free to contact me if I can answer any questions or concerns.

Thank you
Nicole

Hi everyone. I think i am sending this properly so it’s going to everyone. Let’s start at the top:

1. Jessica is still not on these lists correctly. J_voepel25 at yahoo.com for anyone reading this that can rectify this situation. I believe she needs to be included.

2. Per the last meeting and the unanimous or was there one Nay? Based on the meeting’s vote, the bank issue has already been resolved. Myself and Rosemary are currently on the bank. I believe the switch was made 2 Fridays ago at TD Bank in Fort Pierce. If we need to amend the constitution to make sure we are following the rules and regulations of the larger NFB, i propose…

3. We amend the constitution so we are currently in good working standing. I think the chapter is, at the very least, owed an explanation by Sylvia and Denise if it is them telling us to do this why a unanimous vote at the chapter level should be ignored and overruled. But, frankly, unless it’s some explanation that literally, physically blows my socks off, i will be unbelievably reluctant to go against a chapter vote and super confused as to why we should.

I’ll hang up and listen.

The motion stated that the names of the Vice President and Treasurer would go on the checking account upon transfer to the new officers. However, I had explained that I would discuss wit the state board because I didn’t think this could occur due to what our current chapter constitution states.

Therefore, in reading our constitution and where it pertains to the Treasury (Section 10, please see entire constitution below). It currently reads that the Treasurer selects the bank and the President approves it. In addition, it also states that the Treasurer is to b e the PRIMARY name on the account and signer of the account. However, the President is to be listed as a SECONDARY signer on the account.

Also, there was some discrepancies as to what the state board wanted for signers on the bank account. I have discussed it in length with the stateboard and it has been said to me, the Treasurer and President names go on the account. This is what our chapter constitution states, as well as the state and national constitutions.

These names are our past President, Vice President and Treasurer. So, keeping with that sequence, I propose we keep the same three board member titles and simply change the names. So, on our bank account would have the names listed as follow: Treasurer Joe, President Nicole and Vice President Rosemary. Due to how our constitution reads, it would have to be in this order.

I will also reach out to Rosemary upon hearing from both Ron and Joe, so that she can also make arrangements to go to the bank to have her name added to the account, as well as myself. I do not want to prolong this transition any longer, especially since two of the three individuals are no longer with us and I know that Ron will be moving soon. Also, it is important that we have current records from the bank, and access especially if we are considering doing some fundraising.
