KSB and APH to Host a Statewide KENTUCKY BRAILLE CHALLENGE 
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:  Can you help?
THURSDAY, January 27, 2011
The BRAILLE CHALLENGE®, a very special competition that motivates blind students to improve their braille reading and writing literacy skills, will be hosted by the American Printing House for the Blind (APH) and the Kentucky School for the Blind (KSB) on  Jan. 27, 2011. It will primarily take place on the KSB campus with student registration due by Friday, January 7.
 Attached is the BRAILLE CHALLENGE VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION FORM.  Your help can benefit this event in a variety of ways -- for the amount of time that you can offer.   The BRAILLE CHALLENGE is a wonderful opportunity for students and an enjoyable experience for all who participate! If possible, please complete the form and return as indicated.

About The Braille Challenge®
The Braille Challenge® is an academic competition unlike any other. This two-stage contest is designed to motivate blind students to emphasize their study of braille and reward their success with a fun-filled, but challenging, event.  
 Last year nearly 800 students from first through twelfth grades across the country participated in The Braille Challenge. Out of those, 60 students with the highest scores overall are invited to Los Angeles in June for a Final Challenge—a full two days of competition, camaraderie and fun!
