Happy New Year Again!

I know I just forwarded a message to the list but it has been quite a long
time since I have actually posted a message. I trust all of you had a Merry
Christmas and have great plans for the new year? I guess it is about time
for me to spill the beans. The NFBK Board knows this but I just haven't
gotten around to making it public. The NFBK will be try-hosting the 2013
National Convention with Indiana and Illinois in Orlando, Florida. I know
you have loads of questions, most of which I won't be able to answer at this
time. However, I can shed a little light on the operation. Since we will be
in Orlando six consecutive years it is Dr. Maurer's opinion that the Florida
Affiliate should not be expected to host all six conventions. Other states
will partner to plan conventions also. For example, I believe Maryland and
Virginia want to host 2014. I can tell you that Kentucky is chairing the
information table, Indiana the Hospitality suite and Illinois will be
responsible for the Monitor articles. We will all take turns working in all
areas of the convention such as the suite. We will all help collect door
prizes and so on. Patti Chang, Ron Brown and I have had two meetings and
plan to include Mrs. Jernigan in on the next one so that we can ask
pertinent questions. I know most of you are just now getting around to
thinking about 2012 and here I am already telling you about plans for 2013.
I can't give any details about financial assistance at this point in time.
We will do our best to help as much as possible. I'll keep you posted.
