Hello!

I wanted to remind you all of some upcoming events that the Greater
Louisville chapter has planned for October. I am in need of volunteers to
help with each of these events. If you have any availability to help please
contact me at 262-1403. Next Tuesday, October 15 from 11-1 we will have an
informational tale at the White Cane Safety Day events at 4TH Street Live.
The following week on Wednesday October 23 from 10-3 we will have a table at
the McDowell Center Open House. On Thursday, October 24 our chapter will
cohost a Halloween Party at the Kentucky School for the Blind from 6-8pm and
we need many volunteers for this event. People are needed to help do games
or crafts with the kids, hand out candy at stations around the campus when
the kids get to trick or treat, and help with the haunted house. Lastly, we
will have a booth on Saturday, October 26 from 2-8pm at the Bardstown Rd.
Boo Fest. For this event it would be good to have 2-3 people to take a 3
hour shift (from 2-5 or from 5-8) to hand out literature, give out candy, do
Braille or can demonstrations, talk with the general public about the NFB.
Again, if you have any availability to help with any of these events please
call me. It takes more than a board of directors to do this much, so we're
counting on some of you to lend a hand if you can. Together we can change
what it means to be blind in Louisville!

Regards,

Melanie
