Thanks!

Hi Museum Friends,

I just wanted to remind you all one more time about our playwriting workshops. The first one is a week away -- Saturday, September 27, at 12:30. The information is pasted below.

We have a nice group of people already enrolled. If you’d like to join us, please let me know.

Aspiring playwrights who are blind or visually impaired have the opportunity this fall to write a play to be produced by the Museum’s Braille Readers Theater group.

In the past three years, the group has presented a classic play, a play by William Shakespeare, and a modern farce. Play selection is always difficult, so why not commission a play that addresses the strengths of the group?

To develop new plays, the Museum is sponsoring a series of playwriting workshops to be taught by Constance Alexander, an award-winning playwriting, fiction and nonfiction writer.

Each workshop builds on work done in the previous workshops so while attendance at all three workshops is not mandatory, it is recommended.

Also, on September 13, New York based playwright Leona Godin will visit the Museum to share excerpts from her plays and discuss the process she follows for writing plays. Ms. Godin’s visit is part of the Museum’ Bards & Storytellers series.

The writing workshops are scheduled for September 27, October 25, and November 22, all from 12:30 to 3:30 in the museum. There is no cost for participation.

Selected plays will be produced at the Museum’s New Play Festival in March of 2015.
