Katie,
I always refer to myself as blind first. When I write an article I say things such as, I am a blind person, or, we the members of the blind community. I am sending invitations to guests to attend our state convention. I introduced myself as a blind person. I tell them that MFB is the nation's largest organization of the blind. It is just the natural thing to do.
