[NFBK] TARC Update

Good Afternoon,
As we all know there have been some recent changes in the TARC 3 Para
Transit and fixed route services. We are working to try to resolve these
issues. However, because we are not familiar with federal law and TARC
policy we have asked an attorney to help us in understanding our legal
position. I will be the first to admit that this will not be an overnight
fix. In the meantime, I spoke with Eric King, Director of Communications at
TARC who assured me that they are interested in our concerns. He has also
advised me that anyone who is currently without any TARC transportation is
welcome to call to see what options might be available. You can call the
TARC 3 Eligibility Office at 502-213-3217 or email,
TARC3Eligibility at ridetarc.org. I don't know what he means by options. And I
am not saying your problems will be solved, I am just relaying Mr. King's
message. I have also spoken with Laura Douglas one of TARC's interim
directors. She has suggested that we compile a list of our questions and
concerns and forward them to her so that they might have a better handle on
the situation. After talking to her Lonnie Swafford and I decided it would
be in our best interest to consult with an attorney. We need to be prepared
and professional in our strategy. We are hoping that eventually we can have
a face-to-face meeting which will ultimately lead to an equitable
resolution. We'll keep you posted.
