Hello Scott,
I hear you on the Greyhound situation, this is why I don’t go to Owensboro more often than I do. I haven’t been to Louisville or Owensboro in years because of this..
Do you have trusted friends that would be willing to take you for a negotiable, gas price where you can pay them gas or you could barter. Sadly, based on my personal experience, there are not many people who are willing to take that kind of time out of their own schedule, unless it’s a crisis situation involving illness, funeral, wedding, graduation, etc. or a ride to an airport or something important. However, a general visit with family is very difficult to pull off. I haven’t stopped searching, so I just want to say don’t give up and keep searching, you may find that person that’s willing to help with the transportation., that your mom andand you are needing.
Lyft would be extremely expensive, if you are working, still, you might be able to save, it’s you might be able to save, it’s really hard to save money up for that these days, but anything is possible, so just don’t give up. I am in some rideshare groups where people ask for rides to certain destinations, I haven’t utilized this because it’s not from rideshare companies, but from people in general, and I want to be safe, but that is an option.

Kindest regards,
Paula, Caldwell

I have a friend that has taken me to a halfway point before, but mom hates relying on him. I’d love any opinion on other options available.
