National Federation of the Blind of Kentucky

Membership and Communications Update (January 2026)

To: NFB of Kentucky Membership

From: Lonnie Swafford, NFBKY Web Team

Subject: Recent Technical Challenges

In December, a combination of website automation issues, (email
confirmations and background processing), and a disruption to the
affiliate's shared Google Drive folders slowed routine communications and
record updates.

What is being done now

National web support assisted with restoring system-generated email using
relay-compatible, "From", settings.

National reported on January 15 that the recent errors were resolved and
scheduled background jobs should run normally, with continued monitoring.

The web team is continuing file recovery and clean-up so records and
documents are consistently accessible again.

How this affects 2026 dues and confirmations

If you paid 2026 dues and have not received the usual confirmation email,
this is the most common reason. In many cases, payment receipts still went
out, but confirmation messages and some membership-status updates inside CRM
were delayed while the system was stabilized.

What to expect next:

I will enter renewals and updates into CRM as soon as practicable.

Some members may receive a follow-up call or email from me or another web
team member to confirm dues status or contact details.

December meeting minutes

This same disruption also delayed distribution of the December Greater
Louisville Chapter minutes and the December affiliate board minutes. Those
documents will be sent later today.

We apologize for any inconvenience. Recovery is proceeding, and work is
ongoing to restore normal processing and communications. If you have
questions, please contact me or any member of the NFBKY web team.

Respectfully,

Lonnie Swafford

NFBKY Web Team
