Friends and Colleagues:
 
As the affiliate's representative on the Maryland State Rehabilitation
Council (MSRC), I am sharing with you the following announcement about
public meetings that will be held in April 2009. If any of the links in
the following announcement fail to work, cut and paste them into your
internet browser. I have only the information provided below. I
encourage you to attend one of these public forums to offer any
perspective that you may feel is needed. The announcement follows:
 
We invite you to the 2009 Public Meetings sponsored by Maryland State
Rehabilitation Council <BLOCKED::http://www.md-src.org/> , Statewide
Independent Living Council  <BLOCKED::http://www.mdsilc.org/>  and
Centers for Independent Living

Presenters will include DORS Director Robert Burns, representatives from
the above Councils and from local Centers for Independent Living. 

Expected topics of discussion at the meetings include:

*	DORS funding issues, including use of expected federal stimulus
funds 
*	Transitioning services for high school students with
disabilities 
*	Employment outcomes in difficult economic times 

Ask questions or tell us your opinions about DORS programs and services.
We also invite your comments about proposed changes in the State Plan
for Vocational Rehabilitation Services
