Saturday Adaptive Technology Session
AUDIBLE PEDESTRIAN SIGNALS
Did you ever wonder why those beeping boxes are attached to some "Walk/Don't
Walk" signposts? They do more than enable pedestrians with limited or no
vision to know when it's safe to cross!
Find out who decides on their location, how they work, and anything else you
want to know at a panel discussion with Charlie Crawford, Vice Chair of the
Montgomery County Commission on People with Disabilities; Patrick Sheehan,
advocate for the National Capitol Area Chapter of the American Council of
the Blind; and Bruce C. Mangum, Manager, Transportation Systems Engineering,
Montgomery County Department of Transportation.
