Hi Yasmin,

We have an invite out to someone for the event. However, we do not have a
response yet. Can you write me off list to give me another alternative to
invite?

Thanks,

Michelle

Hi Michelle,

Yes, there are some PDF files on this website. However, I have seen one
which is accessible. For PG county, the Capital health connection has
most of their documents accessible. I have informed the public
information office that the calendar is not accessible.

People can call the phone number 1855-642-8572 and speak a navigator. I
believe that they are still having some technical difficulty. The
on-line applications are not working for anyone. The local navigators
are completing paper applications and sending them to the state.

I hope this is helpful.

I think that you should invite someone at your resource fair. They can
come prepared to take and complete applications on site. All the
navigators are given laptops to do this.

All,

I am forwarding this email because I am curious about the opinions of
others regarding the website for AHC. Has anyone tried to navigate the
website? I tried but had some interesting experiences including PDF
files.

Since this was one of the items we brought to our legislators in
Annapolis as a concern, I would like to see your comments after trying
the site. They have published there are some problems but I wonder how
much that applies to the types of things we need to make the website
accessible for us.

Michelle

Maryland Health Connection Sees Improvements, Important Updates (October
3, 2013)

Maryland Health Connection is reporting improvements in the website
today. Overnight, our IT vendors identified the cause of the unexpected
bottleneck in the account creation feature and began taking steps to
improve performance. In the few hours immediately following the initial
improvements, more than 1,000 users created new accounts.

Today, users have continued to create accounts, determine eligibility,
and compare and choose plans. We are closely monitoring the user
experience, and are working to improve the efficiency and performance of
the system.

In order to perform routine maintenance, certain functions of
MarylandHealthConnection.gov will be unavailable from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
daily through the month of October. MarylandHealthConnection.gov will
remain open for general information during maintenance hours.

Consumer assistance is available throughout the state. Our Customer
Support Center (855-642-8572) has extended hours during open enrollment
(Mon.-Fri. 8am-8pm, Sat. 8a-6pm and Sun. 9a-2p). Consumer assistance
organizations, Local Health Departments and Departments of Social
Services provide in-person assistance as well as auhtorized insurance
brokers statewide.

We appreciate the tremendous interest in, and support of,
MarylandHealthConnection.gov. We will address issues as they arise, and
will continually improve the function of the website so that Marylanders
can access quality, affordable health coverage.

All,

It appears that the library of Congress has reopened most of it's
websites, including all NLS pages. I received a note today from the
director of our state library here in Maryland indicating that Bard
and all other NLS websites are back up and running. If anyone still
has problems accessing Bard, please relay that information to the list
so other Bard users will know what is going on.

Thanks,

Chris Nusbaum
