Hi everyone,
I am sorry if this email does not display as well. The convention was great and all the good news we heard. I plan to send out some information soon when my work email is fixed.
Thanks.
Yasmin

Subject: Re: [Nfbmd] Nfbmd Digest, Vol 71, Issue 15

I had a great time. I enjoyed bringing a friend in and showing her
that being blind doesn't mean you have to stay in your house with your
kids and do nothing. I won't say she was amazed but, inspired to see
so many blind mothers and well it was the first time she had ever
been around that many blind people. When we met four years ago she
didn't even know computers could talk or that braille was an option
for her. In school she was just given a large print book and a
megnifier and told to deal with it. She dropped out and got her GED
and I was excited to tell her about the student devision. She plans to
start college in the spring. we both enjoyed looking at the technology
and the AT guys. I helped with the Tweens on friday and I really
enjoyed it. As I was walking through the mall with my Two girls; Anna
Cat and Amy, I had a thought "these are the future leaders of the
NFB,Boy our future is looking bright." There were so many great
things about convention. I could go on and on for hours.
Congradulations to all participants that won prizes and to those who
were elected. Thank you to all of you who volinteered or baked great
food or what ever you have done to help your federation family.
