Hi,

In my home of 2 years I am using Kelvin thermostat which does talk. But it does depend on what type of heat and air you are using.

Thanks, & Have a Wonderful Day!

The VIP is the only one I found on line that suits the way I function. I do not have a smart phone. . That's why I was searching around. I appreciate the responses so far.

Hello Fellow Federationists,

Recently, I had to replace my central air conditioning system and heating.
The system came with a touch pad thermostat which of course, I could not use. I am asking the company to provide me with a talking thermostat but am trying to find some information about what is current to give them a name.

I have a 10 year old one I purchased from NFB but that does not seem to be working well with the new system. To be honest, since the system has the new refrigerant, I probably need to get a new one anyhow. That is probably why they tried to replace what I had. Can anyone give me any ideas? I checked on Google, but am not getting the answers I think I need. I believe this is a forum where I can get some decent answers.

Thanks,

Michelle

We are continuing to use a Kelvin thermostat from I L A. But I don?t think they have been coming out with newer models to deal with changes in equipment.
Some people I have talked with are happy with the VIP thermostats from talkingthermostats.com , a company near Minneapolis. They have two models listed on their website, and I suspect that one of them would work for you.
The site tried to launch Windows Media Player when I opened it; I closed that and read the info with Window-Eyes. I have talked with the proprietor on ham radio a couple of times, and he seems to have a good and honest attitude.

Michelle, we recently got a talking thermostat from talkingthermostats.com; the site Lloyd is talking about. It was recommended to us by Joe and marsha Drenth (blind and defblind, respectively). The proprietor's name is Harry; last name, Cohen, I think. He's knowledgeable an very helpful. If I remember correctly, we paid $150, or thereabuots for ours. There's also one that you can control from an iphone. That's what Joe and Marsha use, now; they like being able to adjust the temperature before they reach home.
