Hey there Maryland friends,

This semester, I am looking at starting up a disability Club at the community college of Baltimore county Catonsville campus! I am looking both for interested CCBC students in the area as well as any cool ideas anybody may have for a fun club name. The goal of the club will be very activism-related, getting out in the community on campus and challenging assumptions, spreading awareness, advocating for disabled students on campus, and all things related. I am looking for both interested students as well as any clever name ideas that create a fun, activism and assumption-destroying vibe, and if you're interested or have any ideas, feel free to email me off list!

For CCBC students who would be interested in joining, I am going to have a table set up at CCBC's campus involvement welcome fair next Wednesday for a good portion of the day. We should be out there until around four in the afternoon, and if you'd like to help out or want to come say hi and expressed interest, look for the CCBC Disability Club table in the quad!

For those who may have some good name ideas, I am definitely looking for something kind of fun with a vibe of activism and destroying assumptions. Actually, the name of the disability Club at my previous school was "students out to destroy assumptions" and I am definitely hoping for something that really captures the vibe as well as that does. Feel free to share your ideas with me off list!

Thanks for reading and I hope to see some NFB friends at the fair next Wednesday!

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.
