Dear Maryland Career Mentor applicants,

Regarding the below announcement of the January 18-20, 2019 Career Mentoring weekend retreat, due to the number of mentor applications we have received, you should know that this is not a required activity. IN other words, we will need to decide on a case by case basis how many adult mentors we need in proportion to the number of mentee applicants who signed up to participate. Therefore, if you are thinking about participating, please contact me with your intention by email with the understanding that we will only require a handful and by no means the entirety of everyone who applied. Be assured that there will be ample opportunities coming up for mentor training and we will let you know about them as we move forward.

I hope this provides clarification.

Yours with regards,

Maurice Peret

Announces the 2019 Student Weekend Retreat

The National Federation of the Blind Career Mentoring Program connects blind and low vision Maryland students with successful blind role models who are living full lives and who will help you navigate the path from education to career success. Weekend retreats consisting of planned activities and workshops enhance the mentoring relationship and help mentees to be active participants in their futures.

The weekend will be packed with information sharing, interactive discussions, educational activities, and fun challenges to help us live the lives we want.
