EASTON, Md. - American Farm Publications Inc., the parent company of The
Delmarva Farmer is awarding two, $1,500 scholarships in the newly renamed
Bruce W. Hotchkiss Memorial Scholarship program. 
Hotchkiss, who died last October., was the founding and longest-serving
editor of The Delmarva Farmer and American Farm Publications and served on
the company's scholarship committee for several years. 
The scholarship program was named for Hotchkiss to honor his passionate
advocacy for agriculture and the importance of higher education.
"We find it truly fitting to rename these scholarships after Bruce," said
Sean Clougherty, AFP managing editor. "He was a life-long learner and felt
so strongly about agriculture education, in educating the next generation of
farmers but also teaching the public about where food comes from." 
The scholarships are available to high school seniors and college students
who are studying for a career in agriculture and have maintained a
cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher at the student's current
learning institution. 
The scholarships are open to residents of Maryland, Virginia, Delaware and
New Jersey.

To apply, students should fill out an application, postmarked by Friday, May
15, 2020 with a current transcript and an original essay limited to 500
words regarding your decision to pursue an agricultural career.
