[NFBMD] Blind and low-vision adults needed for touch screen research study

The below research participant solicitation is being provided for informational purposes only. The National Federation of the Blind has no involvement in this research, but we believe that it may contribute to our research mission.

Do you have experience with touch screen devices? Do you want use touch screen devices more freely and individually? Talk to us and your opinions are valuable!

The research team at the University of Maryland has developed a personal device that aims to help blind users use touch screen in the public space. To better understand the prototype, we now seek blind adults to evaluate it in a user study. During the study, participants will be asked to perform simple task with the device and report their user experience, which will help the research team improve the system in the future. .

Time Required: about 90 minutes but no more than 120 minutes

Compensation: $30 / hour (cash or Amazon gift cards)

Location: UMD Brendan Iribe Center (8125 Paint Branch Dr, College Park, MD 20742) OR at your preferred location.
