The below research participant solicitation is being provided for informational purposes only. The National Federation of the Blind has no involvement in this research, but we believe that it may contribute to our research mission.

Participants Wanted for Self-Driving Vehicle Research Study

The Clemson University DRIVE Lab is looking for participants for a study to evaluate interaction technologies for fully autonomous or "self-driving" vehicles.

Interested individuals will take part in a recorded one-hour in-vehicle interaction session. By interacting with our prototype human-machine interface, participants will provide input on system design and may contribute to self-driving vehicle accessibility.

Participants must be at least 18 years of age, can enter and exit a vehicle, and should not be prone to motion sickness.
The study will take place at the National Federation of the Blind Jernigan Institute, 200 E Wells Street, Baltimore Maryland on September 17 from 8 to 10 am, and from noon until 6 pm.

Participants will be compensated with a $40 gift card for their participation as well as a $20 transportation reimbursement.

To schedule a session and for additional risk and benefit information please contact Aaron Gluck, Human-Centered Computing Ph.D. candidate at amgluck at clemson.edu<mailto:amgluck at clemson.edu>

Participants may also sign up onsite the day of the study during the NFB of Maryland Greater Baltimore chapter meeting though we request that participants schedule a session in advance if possible.

This study has been reviewed and approved by the Clemson University Institutional Review Board.
