You’re Invited: Visit the Traveling Disability Caravan and the NFB Jernigan Institute

The National Federation of the Blind is excited to welcome the Disability Caravan to our headquarters on September 3-4, 2024. The Disability Caravan is a collective of disabled people, and our allies, driving across America this year, visiting several cities including many that are important to our history. Baltimore is the next city stop!
The National Federation of the Blind Jernigan Institute has been a Baltimore landmark for several decades positioned in South Baltimore and continues to bring value to the Federal Hill and Riverside community. We advance the lives of our members and all blind people in the United States. We know that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. Our collective power, determination, and diversity achieve the aspirations of all blind people.
You’re invited!

  * Stop by and engage with the Disability Caravan on September 4 at 11 a.m. or 1:00 p.m.—this is a great opportunity to ask questions and learn about disability rights.
  * Tour the NFB Jernigan Institute—we will be offering tours on September 4 at 11:30 a.m. and at 1:30 p.m. There is limited space; please RSVP.
  * Support and connect with the community—sign up to learn more about the organized blind movement in your neighborhood.
While celebrating local disability rights movements, part of the Disability Caravan’s goal at each stop along the way will be to educate our peers on our history and encourage them to be a part of their future by way of emphasizing voters’ registration for all. Together we transform dreams into reality.
Please RSVP and sign up for one of the tours. We are excited to connect with you. If you have questions or request accommodations, please email Communications at nfb.org<mailto:Communications at nfb.org>.
