Hello Fred.

Please put this on the list serve.

Season's greetings to all!

As in 2006, I am delighted to have been given the task of reserving the
rooms for those planning to attend our Washington seminar. In order to do
that, you need to let me know if you are planning to go. The seminar will
take place Sunday, February 8 through Wednesday, February 11. As you may
remember from state convention our affiliate will pay for the cost of two
rooms; one for the men and one for the women. Attendees would be
responsible for their own transportation and other expenses. We should be
able to manage up to four in each room as we have in the past without
difficulty. After all, we don't want people to have to sleep in bathtubs,
closets or under desks. Of course, Fred and I could make like we're rich
and consider getting our own rooms but at $150 per night our wives would
probably kill us.

Anyway, in order to get the two rooms for the four nights I need to send in
the names of the people who would be staying in each room. So I want to
start hearing from you now while I am in the process of finishing up my
shopping and other holiday preparations.

The deadline for getting the names in to Diane McGeorge is January 5 but I
would like to have this all wrapped up by the end of next week.

So, I would like to see names begin trickling into my Email box like so many
delightful Christmas presents or wishes. Think of the fun we will have in
Washington getting people excited about coming to Detroit for National
convention. Once they see our group and how we usually enjoy ourselves at
events like this, who wouldn't want to come to Detroit to spend even more
time with us? You can Email me at mpowell at wowway.com or call me at:
(586)754-1325. If I am not there leave a quick message and if you need me
to call you back, I will.

Just remember I need to start getting names because that is the only way I
can secure two rooms.

Also, if you are coming to seminar and have made other arrangements to stay
in town or with friends let me know so we will know exactly how many we will
have in our delegation.

I appreciate the commitment and sacrifice we all make in doing the work
involved with making this event a success every year. The seminar is a lot
of work, but it is very rewarding and we always enjoy each other's company
and usually come back with stories or a few laughs about something connected
with the event. Ask anyone who has gone before and they will tell you.

In closing, let me wish all of you the best for the holidays and I look
forward to the emails and calls that I know will start coming in.

Michael Powell

Vice-president

National Federation of the Blind of Michigan
