[nfbmi-talk] to Pauline about voting.

Hi,

The button is a diamond shaped button on the top right of the navigation
keys. It will say "screen off" or something like that. It automatically
turns the screen back on after you have completed the voting process.

I have a procedure question and wonder if any of you know the answer. After
the machine returns the marked ballot to you, you put it back in the folder,
so no one can see how you voted. You then take to a worker who does
something, I don't know what. That worker then returns the folder and
ballot to you to take it to the tabulator where you insert the ballot and
then return the folder. My question is, how can you assure that the worker
is not opening the folder and seeing how you voted? Sometimes the worker
wants to take it to the tabulator. I insist in placing the ballot in the
tabulator, myself. Has anyone had this problem?

Another question is ther any way to tell which side of the ballot faces up.
I am old and if I have to wait, I forget which side is up and need to ask
someone if I am putting it in the Automark correctly. Is there any simple
way to keep track of the correct side and end to place in the Automark?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Warm Regards,

Fred

Nick says there is a button to turn the screen off. He said you should have
turned the screen off, and politely insisted to the man that you were able
to vote by using the voice of the machine. I know it is hard to find ways to

discourage over helpfulness without being rude.
