The short answer is, "Yes."

However, I think they will be blocked along with other nominees as this is
traditional partisan activity in the latter days of the Grandholm
Administration.

Now, I'm going to express an opinion here for consideration. It is only one
man's opinion. and I chatted with Larry about it yesterday.

Frankly, I think the Mike Geno is coming around. His eyes are beginning to
be open and that is reflected in, among other things his inquires relative
to information including budget information, his call for transcripts on ALJ
decisions, and his vote to reverse the Tomchak, Brooks, and Fellows.

Moreover, if we are to win hearts and minds of the community as a whole I do
not think we can be perceived as getting into an ACB v. NFB thing at this
point.

Frankly, we need all commissioners to follow the law and to advocate for all
of Michigan's Blind people.

Personally, in the past I've had my run ins with Mr. Geno, but it is time
for us to act above partisanship in my mind and to ban together in common
cause to save the Commission for the sake of all blind Michiganders.

Thus, while individuals can and will do what they will I urge NFB MI not to
officially call for a veto of Geno's reappointment.

Besides, the perception issue, I suspect that the Senate is going to do what
it is going to do anyway in these regards.

So ultimately an official call by NFB MI to veto Geno's reappointment would
be counterproductive and unnecessary to boot.

Sincerely,

Joe Harcz
