Gov.-elect Rick Snyder filled more staff positions today, tapping a long-serving congressional aide, a Michigan Senate staffer and former Consumers Energy
Co. official, and a state department manager.
Bill McBride, chief of staff to U.S. Rep. Vern Ehlers, R-Grand Rapids, will head the state's Washington office.
As director of the state's Washington office, McBride will be Michigan's liaison to Congress, the executive branch, the National Governors Association,
foreign embassies and consulates.
Norm Saari, chief of staff to state Sen. Jason Allen, R-Traverse City, will be Snyder's manager of appointments. The governor appoints members to more than
215 state boards and commissions.
Saari has been with Allen's office since 2007, after retiring in 2006 as executive director of governmental affairs for Consumers Energy.
Marsha Quebbeman, department manager of the financial services and procurement office in the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget, will
be Snyder's director of administration.
She'll oversee finance, information technology and office administration. Quebbeman was an office manager for Engler during his tenure as governor.
