January? Woot woot lol My phone is the same way. Once you get into the menus
there is no more speech. I just hope that the I-phone for Verizon wont be o
expensive. I really just want a fully accessible hone without having to pay
a million dollars just to use it.

Ann,
I have the exact same problem! We have continued with Verizon because they
have given us the best customer service and coverage...but, they have not
had an accessible phone.
I am told that Verizon will carry the Totally accessible I Phone beginning
in January. You can be sure that I plan to make a Bee line for my nearest
Verizon store on New Years Day to get my I Phone. Both Doug and I spoke to
several folks at the NFB convention who have I Phones and they really do
appear to be totally accessible. My current phone is partially accessible,
but once you get into the menus, no more speech. I really do not like that!

Christine

I'm tired of having limitations on which phone to buy because they aren't
fully accessible. I don't see why I have to spend a lot of money on
software, or have to switch phone companies. I want the ability to walk into
Verizon, which is what I use, and purchase any phone I want, without having
to worry about the things I mentioned. I really want the latest blackberry
phone, but I can't use it because these companies wont make them accessible.
Its one of the most irritating thing I've ever had to experience.

Dear NFVMI Family,
Do you have difficulty using the voice commands with your cell phone?
Do you wish you could use your phone more effectively?
Do you wish the designers were more knowledgeable on the blind community?
This may be the solution of the decade:
